Last week marked the start of UK Black History Month, and this year, we’re proud to be supporting the Sickle Cell Society—the only national charity in the UK dedicated to representing and improving the quality of life for people affected by a sickle cell disorder.
Sickle cell disease affects over 20 million people worldwide, and it’s particularly important to spotlight during Black History Month as it disproportionately impacts people of African descent.
Education and awareness are crucial in the fight against this disease. That’s why, as part of our Captify Voices series, we’re excited to share the ‘Living with Sickle Cell’ Podcast, where our Senior Creative Manager, Bolaji Farinto, bravely opens up about his personal journey. In conversation with Captify’s Head of Talent and Employee Experience, Sabrina Gigante, he shares an honest and open view on what it is like living with sickle cell disorder and offers advice on how friends, family and colleagues can offer meaningful support.
You can listen to the podcast here.
Throughout October, our goal is to raise as much as we can for this incredible cause. If you would like to make a donation, please do so here. No help is too small.
This month, Captify will also be hosting additional fundraising events and initiatives to raise as much we can for this incredible cause. We’ll keep you posted on how you can get involved and support!
